Tales of the 2013 Winter Tour

Posted:

What a great time we had!!  The highlight of the trip was the moose who came up to our Dog sledding bus after a great morning swishing through the snow by dog power. What a sight!

Then there was the crazy Canadian pulling a skier behind his car across a frozen lake and the young motor cyclists racing each other around the same lake -fearless!

We saw the families of Canmore skiing up and down a snow covered road in the middle of town during the Winter Festival and skaters and cross country skiers on the frozen Lake Louise.

We spied ice climbers on the  frozen ice fall at the end of Lake Louise as we snuggled under blankets on the sleigh ride round the lake.

The quilt stores were really interesting with many new and unusual fabrics and patterns and we really enjoyed our  lunch and meeting with the Canadian Quilting Guild ladies, sharing fabrics, quilt ideas and show and tell. It was just so nice to be able to share our passion with the locals.

And there were the quilting workshops –  new ideas and methods to add to our repertoires.

Of course the shopping was fun too, especially with our local Calgarian guides taking us to the antique and art shops in Old Calgary.

For more stories and details, email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to share our good time with you.
