The ice sculptures at the Chateau Lake Louise were just fabulous -once again. These fighting bucks were spectacular, especially under spotlights in the evening. The theme for this year was the Olympics and all the events that the Canadians had entered at Sochi were represented in the ice sculptures. The frozen waterfalls at Lake Louise and Johnston Canyon were amazing to see – and the intrepid ice climbers were just crazy!! Canmore had their Winter Festival again and we saw the Kid’s Dog Sled race on the snow covered main street. The kids looked like they were having fun until the final turn, when the dogs were just a bit too fast and they barrelled over -all in good fun. The Cochrane Quilters were having a sewing day and the variety of exquisite quilts was mind blowing -they are SO talented! Addie’s and the Sugar Pine Quilt Shops had great new stock and lots of new ideas to try. The holiday went too fast!
